Photographs shot by Željko Gašparović during the Homeland War from 1991 till the closing operations in 1995 represent the very peak of Croatian war photography. The photomonography offers photographies arranged in chronological order, which makes it, in a way, a chronology of the Homeland War in pictures and, at the same time, a monument to the war veterans, primarily the ones from the Novska region. Apart from the photographs of military actions, the portraits are especially moving, the ones of Croatian soldiers as well as the ones depicting exhausted and sad faces of refugees, displaced persons and children.
